Glamox, a Norwegian lighting solutions provider, has renewed its logo and visual identity for the first time in 40 years. The main idea of the concept is to represent Glamox as a source of light and smart solutions.

I was part of the re-branding team as a motion designer while at Knowit Experience in Oslo. My role was to develop animation directions for the logo as it was being worked on. I brought it to life each directions we proposed to the client , both to support to the story we were telling through the logotype and as an integral part of the branding process itself. After a weeks long exploration process we finalized the logo animation and applied the motion principles to the other graphic elements to develop a complete visual language.

The visual and motion concept is about the graphic rendering of light through the rays, a simple graphic elements found throughout the whole identity. It flows out of the symbol hinting at the G, it makes grids, rows, it shows direction. It's industrial yet elegant. In motion we're playing using thickness and rotation to guide the eye, create or remove density and reminds us of a rising sun.

This rebranding was awarded the Best of the best price for Corporate Design at the 2022 Red Dot Awards and won for Visual Identity at the 2022 Industrial Design Conference. It also got shortlisted for Rebranding and Logo at the 2022 ADC Awards and for Brand Identity at the 2022 One Show.
